Depth - Straight Images

Depth - Image Bank

1) This photo shows depth really well with the pier in centre image getting smaller in the distance.
2) This photo shows the perspective of a random street with the curb and path shrinking into the distance and more of the building becoming visible in the distance.
3) These next two show depth using fields, I really like the one of the flower field as you can more easily see the depth in the photo compared to the hay bales which still has depth to it but it is not as good.

4) These first two photos are very similar both showing depth through the use of railway tracks.

Depth - Definition

Dictionary Definition:
- The apparent existence of three dimensions in a picture or other two dimensional representation.  This is also related to depth of field.

Describing Words:
- Deep, Shallow, Towering.

1) I like this photo as it has great depth with the railway tracks going on and gradually getting smaller and smaller until you can't really see them properly.
2) I like this photo as there are so many element of it that show depth like the bench which is the main focus of the photo but then there is also the wall and the building to either side.
3) This photo display depth well with the road stretching in to the distance and the telegraph poles getting smaller and smaller.

My Definition:
- The perspective of an object or scene in a two dimensional representation.

Depth - Work Diary

For this I looked at long things that I could get a good perspective of like paths, walls and stairs.  This element was relatively easy to think of good ideas but finding something to implement these ideas was a little more challenging.  These are the two photos I like the most out of the ones I took:

I Like this one as you can clearly see the depth in the vent like wall with all the gaps in it getting smaller /closer together the further back they are as well as the path getting smaller.

This one portrays depth well as the slide clearly gets smaller but i like this one as you can also see the depth in the reflection of the bottom of the slide.

If I was to take more photos for depth I might try to find some really long streets and/or something like railway tracks to get photos from standing in the middle of them.
