Colour - Straight Images

Colour - Image Bank

1) These four three images I chose because I love the contrast between the black backgrounds/foregrounds and the bright vibrant colours of the objects/lights.

2) This photo I really like, it's an obvious edit rather than a subtle one to simply enhance the image.
But despite this, adding the colour spectrum around the iris creates a dramatic, contrast effect with the rest of the image that I think is really cool.
3) I really like the kinda swirly, misty complimentary colours of the pink and yellow compared to the rest of the photo which is relatively dull and boring.

Colour - Definitions

Dictionary definition:
- The property possessed by an object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or emits light.
- The use of all colours, not only black and white, in phopencil.hy or television.

Describing words:
Bright, dull, contrasting, bold, cold, warm, dark, light, fluorescent, luminescent, iridescent, monotone, rich, dull

1) I really like this photo as it portrays colour really well but the bubbles around the pencils create a cool effect.
 2) This photo has a really nice effect with the black background and foreground which provides strong contrast with the colours of the chalk.
 3) I like this photo as it has lots of contrasting and complimentary colours all together In One photo, this added together with the veaded wster effect makes for a really nice composition.
4) I chose this photo as I like the array of the colours with them going loosely through the colour spectrum also I like the contrast between the neat lines of the sides of the pencils and the untidy sharpenings from each pencil.

My definition:
The property of reflected/emitted light from objects.

Colour - Work Diary

For this when I went out I looked mainly at solid blocks of colour and flowers as these are really the first things I think of.  I found it difficult finding good compositional pieces to take photos of, I tried to find things that had contrasting colours as well as things that had complimentary colours to add interest into the pictures instead of just rectangles of a single colour/shade.

I think this is the best photo I took, I really like the effect created by the leaves in the foreground being perfectly in focus and the background being a hazy mass of green and white.  I think this portrays colour well with the hazy green background and the green foreground.

I think this is one of the worst photos I took as it is not particularly interesting, just a plain boring rectangle of flat colour which is the same shade all the way across.

If I went out to shoot photo for colour again I would try to take some more photos like the top one with hazy backgrounds as well as look for some photos with contrasting colours.
